What is the ATYP Identification Timeline?  

 October:  Attend Parent Information evening to learn about the program and the eligibility requirements.  School personnel are encouraged to invite parents of outstanding students in 5th through 7th grade. 

November - March :  Interested students must take the ACT or SAT via the NUMATS program.  (We find the ACT scores lend themselves to school usage to help plan for programing.)  

PLEASE NOTE:  Taking the EXPLORE testDOES NOT count towards ATYP qualification.

April:  Test scores are analysized by  Kent ATYP staff and invitations are sent to potential students for further screening.

May:   Potential students are screened at Kent ISD.  Parents are notified and annual Parent Meeting is held.

June:  Student registration packets are due before school districts dismiss for summer vacation.
