Medical Explorers
A Healthcare Career Exploration Experience
The Medical Explorers program offers high school juniors and seniors a unique 7-week experience to explore healthcare careers. Each week, students will visit two different hospital departments, observing professionals in action and learning what it's really like to work in the medical field. This job shadowing opportunity with Corewell Health is designed to ignite interest in healthcare and provide valuable insights into a wide range of medical careers.
Medical Explorers will provide the students the opportunity to:
- Meet a wide variety of health care professionals and get a behind-the-scenes look at Corewell Health departments
- Ask questions and get the "inside scoop" directly from industry professionals
- Earn a Certificate of Completion to enhance scholarship/college applications and resumes
- Gain valuable insights about their own interests, values and personality
- Practice time management, interpersonal communication, networking and critical thinking skills
- Clarify their own career goals and develop next steps

Dates: Tuesdays, February 4 - March 18, 2025
3:30 - 6 p.m.
Location: Corewell Health, 100 Michigan Ave. NE, Grand Rapids MI. Free parking will be provided.

Students: Kent County High School Juniors or Seniors interested in exploring healthcare careers. Participants must be available for all seven weeks.
Transportation support is available. Don't let transportation be a barrier from participating. Just let us know in the application.
