District Vision

Be You. Be Connected. Be Brilliant!

Career Learning

We offer career and technical coursework through the Kent Career Tech Center and dual-enrollment classes through Grand Rapids Community College. We also have a focus on relevant and meaningful learning experiences that extend beyond our students' time at Godfrey-Lee. A hallmark of this philosophy is our Senior Capstone projects where our students demonstrate their learning in an applied manner toward a possible career or area of study.

Academics and Beyond

Strong academics are the basis for all of K-12 learning beginning with literacy, mathematics, science and social studies. In addition to these areas, we engage students with a wide range of courses including a comprehensive educational program in the fine and performing arts, physical education, and integrated STEAM instruction. We also have after school opportunities including TEAM 21, co-curricular clubs, academic support opportunities, adult learning, athletics, and a music program.

Support for Students

We work hard to support students so they succeed, including hiring the best staff to assist them. In addition, we offer Kent School Services Network support at each site in our district, the only district in Kent County that provides this level of service. We also offer social work, speech pathologists, guidance counselors, staff to support English learners, success coaches, instructional coaches, reading and math specialists, and we partner with Kent ISD for literacy coaching support.

Early Childhood

Early childhood is a crucial time in children's lives, a time when they engage in the world around them and learn all the basics they'll use in school and beyond. Our Great Start Readiness Preschool programs help children prepare for school success. In addition, we partner with Kent ISD to support the Bright Beginnings program.
