New Principal at MySchoolatKent
Jared Herron has been hired as the new principal of MySchool@Kent.
Herron was previously the principal of Kenowa Hills Pathways High School since the 2012-13 school year. He has also worked as an Education Consultant for EdTech Specialists, Inc. and as a teacher at Frontiers/Rogers High School and Lee High School, both in Wyoming, Michigan. He is a graduate of Hope College and has earned a vocational certification from Ferris State University, teacher certification and a Masters degree in education from Aquinas College.
MySchool@Kent is a "hybrid" school, partially online and partially in-person. Students have the ability to learn anytime, any place and at their own pace. MySchool@Kent is for students who need a flexible option to get ahead in credits, make up for missing credits, or to allow for time for extensive travel, work or caring for a family member.
Herron replaces Gerry Verwey who is now the Director of Adult Education at Kent ISD.
